TNN | Nov 19, 2011, 04.38AM ISTBANGALORE: It's time for the kind of retail therapy that only a bookworm would enjoy, checking out stall after stall oblivious to time. The 10-day Bangalore Book Festival kicked off at Palace Grounds on Friday, inaugurated by Jnanpith awardee Chandrasekhara Kambara.

"I hope more such festivals are organized in the city. In India we have a personal attachment towards books, unlike in the West. E-books have become popular now with the tech-savvy. But if more such festivals are organized, it is sure to attract children and make them fall in love with books," he said.

But the veteran writer needn't worry. Youngsters at the fest who have access to the internet and read e-books still felt nothing could beat the experience of holding a book, reading at night or in between classes and cherishing a different experience altogether which is absent if they read online.
